Ryo Saegusa
Ryo Saegusa, Dr.Eng., is a Associate Professor [Japanese] organizing the Human Machine Symbiosis Laboratory in the Department of Robotics and Mechatronics, Faculty of Creative Engineering, Kanagawa Institute of Technology. He also dedicats his efforts to Tenryu Welfare Association [Japanese] as a Councilor, Japan Women's University as a adjunct lecturer, the Care Robot Project [Japanese] of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare as a Project Coordinator, and the Research Institute for Science and Engineering, Waseda University as an Invited Researcher.
In past, he worked in the role of a Research Associate in the the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda University, Japan, a Senior Postdoc Researcher of the Department of Robotics, Brain and Cognitive Sciences of Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Italy, and a Project Associate Professor of the Center for Human-Robot Symbiosis Research, Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan.
His research interest is in the human-machine symbiotic relation and its evolution. He is currently working on the topics about care and medical robotics, human-machine interface for body extension, machine learning and cognitive development systems, and sensory-motor integration with informatics on human sensitivity. He commercialized the care and medical concierge robot through the industry-academia-government collaboration in 2019.
